I’m Shawn Mix — a technology evangelist, builder, and occasional over-engineer of things that probably didn’t need over-engineering.
I work at the intersection of infrastructure, security engineering, and product strategy. I care deeply about building systems that scale, securing the worlds infrastructure, and products that genuinely help people. I’ve spent years in the trenches of Infosec, cloud infrastructure, and solution engineering, and I’m always finding new problems worth solving.
When I’m not working, you’ll find me tinkering with homelab setups, diving deep into new tools and technologies, and occasionally writing down thoughts that I think might be worth sharing.
This Site
This is my little corner of the internet — a place to collect my notes, share my writing, and keep a record of what I’m thinking about. It’s built on Jekyll with an Obsidian digital garden workflow, which means my notes publish here directly from my note-taking system.
The Notes section is a digital garden — a collection of ideas in various stages of development. The Blog is for more polished, long-form writing. The Resume page has my professional background. And my Links page has various supporting links.
